Development of V-Based Oxygen Carriers for Chemical Looping Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Propane

Two different preparation methods, viz. incipient impregnation and mechanical mixing, have been used to prepare V-based oxygen carriers with V loadings for chemical looping oxidative dehydrogenation of propane. The effect the method, loading, reaction temperature on performance these measured discussed. It was found that VOx species can be well distributed support when loading is low (5 wt.% 10 wt.%), but they may become aggregated at higher loadings. For a transport capacity carrier, propane conversion COx selectivities increase, while propylene selectivity decreases. With V-loading wt.%, maximum yield achieved. were better over applying method; however, prepared by mixing showed larger capacity. (ODHP) re-oxidation reactions compared mixing. Higher temperatures are favorable reaction, unfavorable production.
